Nicki Minaj has alleged that influential figures within the music industry may be working behind the scenes to suppress certain artists who do not comply with their expectations or “rules.”
According to her, some talented musicians are deliberately made “almost invisible,” while others face challenges that are not always coincidental. She suggested that many of the struggles she and other artists encounter in the industry could be orchestrated by these unnamed individuals, although she did not identify anyone specifically.
Speaking during a recent appearance on The Bryce Crawford Podcast, Minaj claimed that some powerful industry players treat musicians as assets primarily used to generate profit, while allegedly sidelining those who do not cooperate.
She further described her experience in the music industry as one involving “constant spiritual warfare,” explaining that she believes she would have been better prepared if she had understood earlier that the industry operates on a deeper, more spiritual level.
“It was constant spiritual warfare. I wish I kind of knew sooner that this music industry was such a spiritual experience because I felt like I brought a knife to a gunfight,” she said.
