Controversial Seun Kuti, a Nigerian Afrobeats musician, has singled out specific people on the list of 2023 national award winners.
Davido, Kunle Afolayan, Victor Osimhen, Terry Waya, and more than 300 more renowned Nigerians are just a few of the people who have received the Officer Of The Order of The Niger (OON) honor.
The Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs announced it on Sunday, May 28.
Seun Kuti implied during a discussion of the national awards that half of the famous people who had criticized the late President Muhammadu Buhari were acting hypocritically by receiving the honor.
He openly questioned whether anyone would do the unfathomable and turn down the national honors on moral grounds.
The singer said; “Half of the people criticizing this government as the worst thing ever deh go collect award for abuja from the same government? No one will reject it on principle? Or Buhari don legit? Make una just tell me o. I dey ask for one presidential candidate.”
