Reality TV personality Phyna has shared her stance on motherhood, saying she currently has no interest in having biological children.
Speaking candidly, she explained that her outlook is influenced by her personal experiences and perspectives on relationships. Instead of raising kids, she said she prefers the idea of caring for pets.
“I’m very fertile, but I don’t have any desire to have a biological child. I just want to be a cat and dog mum,” she stated.
Phyna further reflected on how life experiences, especially in relationships, can shape a woman’s preferences over time. According to her, some women tend to grow more attached to animals as they get older, particularly after facing emotional challenges.
She suggested that repeated heartbreaks or unsuccessful relationships may lead some women to seek comfort, peace, and fulfillment in alternative ways, including bonding with pets.
“I think the love for animals in women kicks in when we’re approaching our 30s, or even mid to late 30s, especially when you don’t see yourself settling down. Maybe you’ve been through too many broken relationships or heartbreaks. I feel like I’m at that stage right now,” she added.
Her remarks have since triggered a wave of mixed reactions online. While some people supported her right to make personal choices about motherhood, others felt her comments were too broad.
One user wrote, “Not every woman wants kids, and that’s perfectly fine,” while another responded critically, saying, “She’s generalising too much. Madam, abeg rest.”
