  • A Nigerian man has gained attention on social media for sharing his struggles as a single parent.
  • He revealed that his girlfriend left him and their newborn just two weeks after childbirth.
  • The sudden responsibility of caring for an infant alone has left him feeling overwhelmed.

A Nigerian man has gone viral on social media after emotionally opening up about the difficulties he is facing while raising his newborn child alone.

The man claimed that his girlfriend abandoned him and their baby barely two weeks after delivery, leaving him overwhelmed by the sudden responsibility of single-handedly caring for an infant.

In a TikTok video that has since gained widespread attention, the visibly distressed father explained that the baby cries almost constantly, making it impossible for him to work or carry out his normal daily activities. He admitted that the pressure pushed him into taking a decision he never imagined he would make.

“My girlfriend left me with a two-week-old baby. The child has been crying nonstop. I can’t work, I can’t do anything. Two days ago, I took her to an orphanage so I could do what I want to do,” he said.

However, he revealed that the decision took a heavy emotional toll on him. According to the man, the night he returned home without his baby, guilt overwhelmed him and he was unable to sleep.

“The day I took her there and got home, I couldn’t sleep. The next day, I went back and carried my baby. I no go fit oo. I carried my baby oo,” he added.

He explained that he simply could not live with the thought of abandoning his own child and decided to bring the baby back home.

The man also appealed to women, stating that he desperately needs help to care for the child as he struggles to cope with the demands of parenting alone.

The video has continued to attract mixed reactions online. While many social media users expressed sympathy and encouraged him to stay strong, others argued that parenting should not be reduced to seeking a caretaker during moments of emotional distress.

One commenter wrote, “Parenting is not a joke, especially alone. I pray he gets real help.” Another added, “Single father in the making, you all will know how it feels.”
