  • Nollywood actress Sophia Chisom, known as Soso, emphasizes that on-screen kissing is a professional act.
  • She clarifies that such scenes should not be interpreted as pleasurable experiences.
  • Soso’s comments respond to recent remarks from actors who expressed dissatisfaction with their kissing experiences in the industry.

Nollywood actress Sophia Chisom, popularly known as Soso, has stated that on-screen kissing is strictly a professional act and should not be mistaken for something pleasurable.

She made this known while reacting to recent comments from some actors who complained that they have never experienced a “good kiss” in the movie industry.

Speaking during an interview with TVC, Soso explained that she deliberately keeps her on-screen kisses minimal and controlled. According to her, she does not use her tongue during kissing scenes and ensures her teeth remain closed, making the act limited to lip contact only.

She added that she is very mindful of physical boundaries on set and is not comfortable with the idea of exchanging saliva with multiple colleagues, stressing that intimacy scenes are purely part of acting and not real-life romance.

In her words, she suggested that expecting a pleasurable kiss on set is unnecessary, noting that “it’s just a job” and must be approached with professionalism rather than emotion or enjoyment.

“I don’t think it is okay to swap saliva with every person you work with,” she implied, adding that actors should focus on making scenes believable rather than personal satisfaction.

Her comments come shortly after some Nollywood actors, including her frequent collaborator Saga Adeolu, publicly revealed that on-screen kisses are often not enjoyable, saying they have yet to experience a truly “good kiss” while filming.
