Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has shared the immense dedication and personal sacrifices that went into making her latest blockbuster movie, Behind The Scenes, which has reportedly generated over N2.7 billion at the box office.

In an interview with Bella Naija, the box-office queen revealed that she devoted herself completely to the project, putting aside many personal activities to ensure its success.

Akindele explained that she became fully consumed by work during the production process, noting that she had little time for herself. She disclosed that she stopped attending social gatherings, avoided visiting people, and even neglected personal routines such as making her hair because of her commitment to the movie.

The filmmaker said she was deeply involved in the project and made several sacrifices, including giving up her time, enduring sleepless nights, and sometimes forgetting to eat while working tirelessly to bring the movie to life.

According to Akindele, the hard work and dedication have paid off, as she is now enjoying the results of the effort and sacrifices invested in the project.

Her words…

“What I do differently to achieve this level of success is lots of work. When I say “a lot of work,” it means giving your all. I abandoned myself for work; I didn’t even make my hair, except when I am going on the red carpet or somewhere important. I don’t attend parties, I don’t go to greet people at home, I quit everything. I’m neck-deep in work; I sacrifice my time for it. It’s now that I am relaxed, feeling fresh, doing the skincare. It was a lot of sacrifice, sleepless nights, forgetting to eat, giving my all”.
