The wife of the senior pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Mrs Foluke Adeboye has supported #EndSars protesters in Lagos with trucks of food supplies.
Among the items sent are 27 packs of bottle water, 1,000 bags of pure water & 27 bags of puff-puff.
The Adeboyes have before now, commended the effort of the protesters via their twitter handles.
On Thursday, The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, declared support for youth protesting against police brutality and excesses of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.
“Our daughters will not be able to prophesy and young men will not see visions if we don’t keep them alive. I support the youths in this peaceful protest as they ‘speak up’ to #EndPoliceBrutality #EndSARS #ENDSWAT,” the clergyman wrote on Twitter.
He also shared a statement of solidarity issued by the assistant general overseer in-charge of administration and personnel, Johnson Odesola.
“The Redeemed Christian Church of God identifies with Nigerians presently protesting against police brutality and the abuse of power by the very institution established to protect them.
“The church declares its understanding and appreciation of the concerns and grievances of the youths and the generality of Nigerians and calls for an immediate end to police brutality in the country.”
While stating that the constitutional responsibility of the police is to maintain law and order, Mr Odesola highlighted the need for the police to constantly align their strategies with the needs of the people.
