Nollywood actor Charles Born has opened up emotionally about the painful experiences he went through while growing up, revealing that he was allegedly subjected to harsh treatment by his father.
Speaking as a guest on Ify’s Kitchen podcast, the actor recounted that his father often spoke negatively about his future, saying hurtful things directly to him while he was still a child.
He further claimed that he endured severe discipline at home, which deeply affected his mental and emotional well-being.
According to him, the impact of his upbringing became so overwhelming at a point that he struggled with suicidal thoughts, but he was later helped and supported during that difficult period.
In a follow-up message shared in the comment section of the interview video, Charles Born appreciated fans and well-wishers who reached out after his story went public. He also disclosed that he has since forgiven his father, though the memories of his childhood remain with him.
The actor added that he has undergone therapy and is currently in a much better mental and emotional state.
