“He Kept My Passport”- Pastor Shares How Church Member Allegedly Scammed Him With Fake Dubai Visa Promise

  • A pastor has gone viral after recounting how a church member allegedly tricked him with a promise to secure a Dubai visa. The pastor said he handed over his international passport and made travel preparations after being assured he would be visiting Dubai for a few days.
  • Upon arriving at the airport, he discovered that the church member had disappeared. According to him, the passport was never returned, forcing him to obtain a new one.

A pastor has shared a painful experience of how a trusted church member allegedly deceived him with a fake visa promise and withheld his international passport.

The cleric made the revelation in a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), where he narrated how the church member offered to help him secure a visa to Dubai for what was supposed to be a short three-day trip.

According to the pastor, the church member instructed him to submit his international passport and prepare for the journey. Excited about the opportunity, he informed his family members and made arrangements to travel to Lagos ahead of the scheduled flight.

Speaking in Yoruba, the pastor said:

“One of my church members told me to bring my passport and that he would help me get a visa. He said I would be travelling to Dubai and only needed to spend a few days there to enjoy myself.”

However, things took an unexpected turn when he arrived at the airport on the agreed date.

The pastor revealed that the church member was nowhere to be found, and repeated attempts to reach him proved unsuccessful. According to him, the man’s phone later became unreachable.

He further disclosed that the passport was never returned, forcing him to undergo the stress of obtaining a new international passport.

“The passport was not misplaced. He deliberately kept it. I didn’t travel anywhere; he deceived me, and he was a church member,” he said.

The cleric added that he eventually came across the church member again about six or seven years later, describing the encounter as a painful reminder of the betrayal he suffered.
