“He Doesn’t Want To Be President”- VeryDarkMan Alleges Hidden Agenda By Omoyele Sowore

  • Omoyele Sowore is an activist and former presidential candidate in Nigeria.
  • He is known for advocating for the rights of ordinary Nigerians and organizing protests against poor governance.
  • Sowore contested the presidency under the African Action Congress in 2019 and 2023.

Activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has long built his public image around advocating for ordinary Nigerians, often organizing protests against poor governance.

He contested the presidency under the African Action Congress in both 2019 and 2023, consistently tying his political ambitions to grassroots movements calling for improved leadership.

However, social media commentator VeryDarkMan has stirred controversy with fresh allegations shared in a recent Instagram video, claiming that Sowore’s political activities are part of a deliberate fundraising strategy.

In the video released on Wednesday, he referenced past campaign materials and online posts, which he said support his claims. According to him, Sowore has never truly aimed to become Nigeria’s president.

“Omoyele Sowore does not want to be the president of Nigeria as he make you people believe,” he said.

VeryDarkMan further alleged that the Sahara Reporters founder began this approach in late 2018 by embarking on international tours across Europe, Australia, and the United States.

He claimed that these engagements were primarily organized to attract donations from disillusioned young Nigerians, rather than to establish a solid political base.

He also argued that protest movements such as Revolution Now and End Bad Governance are used to sustain financial support from followers.

Citing Sowore’s lack of prior government experience, the critic described his political journey as a business-driven venture.

He added that the relatively low votes recorded in both the 2019 and 2023 elections suggest that Sowore capitalized on the momentum of crowds initially mobilized by Charly Boy in 2018, when many Nigerians were eager for a new political alternative.

@Official_Oye:”The post Sowore has ever held is Unilag student union president… Though he was one of those who fought for the demoCRAZY we are enjoying.”

@UTDbees:”So the fight is no longer against this evil government it’s against sowore now? It’s against ourselves now?”
