Soludo Confirms Arrest Of Four Suspected Killers Of Anambra Lawmaker

The Anambra Government has invited the leadership of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) to a meeting regarding the assertion of a debt of over N900 million to suppliers of diesel.

In response to the association’s letter of appeal, Mr. TonyCollins Nwabunwanne, Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, said this in Awka on Thursday.

In the letter, IPMAN begged Gov. Chukwuma Soludo will compensate its members who worked as contractors for the Anambra government for the diesel they provided to run streetlight generators in March and April 2022.

N900,664,805 was the amount owed, according to IPMAN.

The government had received the journalists’ complaint, Nwabunwanne assured the media, and it would take all necessary steps to safeguard the businesses.

He nevertheless attributed the delay to inconsistencies in the contractors’ assertions.

The commissioner stated that in order to reconcile the numbers for settlement, his office will meet with the leadership of IPMAN, the group representing marketers.

”I have invited the leadership of IPMAN for a meeting early next week for discussion, it is clear that they do not have the correct information on our dealings with the contractors, there are discrepancies.

“So, the meeting will enable us to reconcile these discrepancies and progress to the next step.

“The Gov. Chukwuma Soludo administration is a business friendly one and  will do all that is possible to support and help them stay in business,” he said
