FCT, Abuja – A recent report has confirmed that on Tuesday, October 17, late at night, the G-5 group of five Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors, led by Nysome Wike, spoke with the president.

Prior to this meeting, they had gathered at Nyesom Wike’s home in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory Minister.

Wike met with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, according to Vanguard, along with his fellow former governors.

As of 10:45 p.m., the meeting’s exact details were unclear. They may have discussed the prospect of the President and the former governors developing a working relationship at the time this report was filed.

The G-5 PDP Governors first met in Wike’s residence for a few hours before heading to the Villa to meet with the president. “Exact details of what was discussed isn’t available to me at the moment, but from discussions held during the initial meeting at Wike’s residence, it was all about finding accommodation for the former governors in the scheme of things and of course, how they can work together

This meeting is noteworthy because of the timing—it took place 24 hours before the Imo State PDP’s governorship campaign in Owerri and at a time when tension over the secretary of the party position was rising. Former Governors Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State were among those present at the meeting. Nyesom Wike, the most recent former governor of Rivers State and current minister for the FCT, was also there.
