- Esquare, a US-baed artist, promoted a song’s music video on a popular blog, which was met with disapproval from the singer.
Popular Nigerian musician Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage name Portable, has been venting a lot lately after musicians from the US who attacked him weeks ago went ahead to promote the music video.
The song writer was not pleased with how the US-born artists known as Esquare promoted the song’s music video on a well-known blog.
Remember that news of Portable being beaten of his life in Lekki as abroad-based musicians demanded a refund surfaced in January 2024
In the video, Portable claims that the singer, who is situated overseas, contacted him through his management to discuss collaborating on music.
The musician said that he was given N2.5M for a music video shoot and just received an invitation to their house for the video
He continued by saying that he requested N2M in increased funding in light of changes to his charges in the new year.
After the music video was shot in Lekki, according to Portable, the two vocalists who are situated overseas, along with their crew of forty people, got angry with him and demanded a refund.
He was observed saying, “They guys almost left hin nak@d if not for his manager who came in with police officers,” while spotted with a swollen eye.
A few weeks later, the American musicians announced that the song would be published on February 25th via a music video promotion on Linda Ikeji’s blog (LIB) today, February 23.
The song video’s promotion was met with criticism from Portable, who attacked the artistes and Linda Ikeji’s site.
Portable wrote; “@lindaikejiblogofficial he no go better for you too when you don post my music before no be bad about me you dey post.”
“He no go better for you people and who post am evil people una think say una fit use me blow 😂 Awon Aparo from America.”
“Them be g@y.”
“Them do me bad still won promote the video.”
“Oloriburuku @lindaikejiblogofficial why you no tag me make I spoil your mama face.”
“If them drop am we go comot am.”
“Na all this bloggers dey spoil naija.”“Fear my return.”
“After we shoot finish them won enter me Na God save me.”
“One day me and this guys go see again. Make them no drop the music. Them collet my phone.”
