  • Sowore has warned of a possible EndSARS 2.0 protest following the alleged police killing of a suspect in Effurun, Delta State.
  • His comments sparked strong online reactions, with many Nigerians demanding justice and urgent police reform.

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has reacted strongly to the alleged killing of a suspect by police officers in Effurun, Delta State, warning that growing anger over police brutality could trigger another nationwide protest movement.

Speaking on the incident, Sowore said the actions of some officers show that the problems which led to the #EndSARS protests have not been resolved.

“This things are not new. Nigerian police will see EndSARS 2.0 coming up soon. You can tell already from the immediate reactions of Nigerians that they håte police brut@lity.”

He further alleged that some officers involved in abuses are former members of the disbanded SARS unit who remained in the force.

“Many of the police officers committing these atrøcities are former SARS officials who should have been dismissed from the police, but they can never change. They know all of them and rely on them to carry out these dirty jobs.”

Sowore also claimed that the person who recorded the viral video could have been targeted if identified.

“They don’t know who took that video, otherwise they would have k!ll€d the person immediately.”

The remarks have generated intense reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing outrage and concern over continued police misconduct.
