Nigerian skit maker and comedian Governor Amuneke has reportedly declined an appointment as a youth ambassador for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), citing concerns over limitations tied to the role.

In a video circulating online, Amuneke explained that his decision was influenced by conditions attached to the appointment, particularly regarding freedom of expression and criticism of the electoral body.

“With gratitude and deep reflection, I made the difficult decision to decline the appointment as Youth Ambassador. This is not out of disrespect – it can be a matter of purpose, timing and conviction,” he said.
