Veteran singer and music producer J Martins has called on the former P-Square members, Peter and Paul Okoye, to settle their differences in private instead of airing their grievances on social media.
The ‘Cool Temper’ singer made the appeal while reacting to Peter Okoye’s recent announcement that he would be changing his birthday date from that of his twin brother. Peter said the decision followed alleged betrayal involving Paul and their elder brother, Jude Okoye.
Reacting to the development, J Martins, who worked closely with the group for many years as their producer, described Peter’s decision as unnecessary, saying it does not make sense to him.
He further urged the Okoye brothers to resolve their misunderstandings amicably, stressing that their public fallout could bring embarrassment to the Igbo community.
On his X handle, Martins wrote, “These are my brothers for more than two decades. I still don’t understand why one will just wake up decades to change his own birthday separate from his twin brother?
“@PeterPSquare and RudeboyPsquare can we fix these stuff inside our house and bring this shame on ‘Ndi Igbo nke anyi’”.

“So, my roommate during NYSC stopped talking to me immediately our service year ended. Even when I wished her a happy birthday, she never acknowledged it, so I stopped reaching out. I just accepted that whatever we had ended with service,” she said.
The situation, however, took an unexpected turn when the former roommate recently reached out with a request to stay at her family home.
“Yesterday, she texted me on WhatsApp saying she’s coming to my hometown to get material for her wedding asoebi and asked if she could spend the night at our family house. Omo, up till now, I never reply. She dey craze,” she added.
