Popular Nigerian musician David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has publicly voiced support for the release of social media commentator VeryDarkMan following his recent detention.
Reports indicate that VeryDarkMan was taken into custody shortly after accompanying his mother to a GTBank branch to resolve an issue with her account. Since then, his family has faced obstacles in contacting him, with his brother, Mark, reportedly denied access to visit or provide him with food at the EFCC office.
The incident has sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians calling for his immediate release. Adding his voice to the chorus, Davido took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to express concern and advocate for the outspoken critic’s freedom. The singer noted that VeryDarkMan has a meaningful influence on the lives of many and praised the strong support the activist has received from the public.
