Reps React To Motion To Evacuate Nigerians In China, See Drama

The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Zhou Pingjian, has stressed that the Embassy is still issuing Visas to people who have urgent need to travel to China despite the outbreak of Coronavirus.

Since the outbreak in 2019, the Asian country has confirmed 17,238 cases and recorded 362 deaths.

Ambassador Pingjian during a news briefing on Monday in Abuja explained that China has fully adopted the recommendations by the World Health Organisation (WHO) on a travel advisory.

Lawmakers in the House of Representatives on Tuesday rejected a motion to evacuate Nigerians allegedly stranded in China following the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

According to lawmakers who voted massively against the motion raised by the spokesperson of the house, Benjamin Okezie, China has better facilities to handle the situation than Nigeria.
