Burna Boy has added another feather to his meteoric cup relative to his musical career after his Ye song was awarded a Gold Certification in the United Kingdom (UK).
BRITs Award organizers made the announcement of Ye’s gold status through its official Twitter page on Friday, September 17, 2021. Two songs were certified gold in the UK by the BRIT’s this week, and they were Ye by Burna Boy, and Anybody by Justin Bieber.
Burna Boy released Ye as part of his 2018 album, Outside.
Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Burna Boy teamed up with Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba as he joined him on stage during his concert on Saturday, September 11 shortly after they trounced Newcastle 4-1.
After the match ended Pogba, travelled from Manchester to Heaton Park, where the Parklife Festival ongoing and shrouded in all the adrenaline that Burna Boy obviously envisaged to set the tone right for him.
Prior to that, Burna Boy shared a video of himself donning a Manchester United customised jersey before the match against Newcastle as he threw his full weight behind the Red Devils.
He shared the video alongside this caption;
