Talent manager and actress Iyabo Ojo’s lover Paulo Okoye has raised an alarm of the impending doom on Afrobeat stars.
Paulo posted a few minutes ago on his Instagram story regarding the difficult times that Afrobeats musicians in all genres are increasingly facing. He draws attention to the high cost of tickets as the reason for the collapse.
Paulo Okoye claims that only Burna Boy and Davido are making waves since they were only able to hold a few gigs this year. He also cautions against following in the footsteps of reggae artists that eventually flopped.
“Tough time for Afrobeat (A & B & C class) Artist Price themselves out of the market. No much shows + global economy is not laughing as well. God help us.
“2024 will be tough year for Afrobeat!!! Apart from 2 artists this year (Burnaboy and Davido) They did few shows others are in trouble either they over priced or tickets are not selling hmmm. Let us not do what happened to Reggae musicians reduce your prices just think. How many shows you did this year.”
