On Wednesday, the Supreme Court denied an appeal filed by the Social Democratic Party and Umar Ardo, the party’s nominee for governor of Adamawa.
This happened after the candidate’s attorney begged the court to drop the lawsuit.
The appeal was later denied by the five-person panel chaired by John Okoro.
Ardo’s petition contesting Ahmadu Fintiri’s victory was denied by the Court of Appeal in Abuja. As a result, Fintiri is now facing an appeal from the All Progressives Congress, which filed it on behalf of its candidate, Aishatu Dahiru, who wants to be named the state’s governor.
