Gay rights activist Bisi Alimi has issued a stern warning, stating that anyone who targets or attacks members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community risks having their career destroyed.
According to Alimi, the LGBT community holds significant influence and will not hesitate to use it against those who promote hate or discrimination.
He emphasized that many may believe such consequences are unlikely in a country like Nigeria, but insisted that times are changing and people should be more mindful of their actions.
Alimi added that the growing global solidarity and awareness around LGBT rights means that even in conservative societies, hateful behavior will no longer go unchallenged.
“You might think it won’t happen to you in Nigeria or Africa, but watch your back cos the tide us changing!
If you come for the LGBT people, they will bring you down and end your career, it’s not a threat, it’s a fact!”
