Many people were ashamed for the monarch after seeing the footage, while others defended Adeleke’s actions, pointing out that the King isn’t obliged to shake hands with anyone.

Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, is currently making news after a video of him being publically humiliated by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke surfaced online.

The two were at a function when the Ooni stepped up to welcome the Governor in the viral video. He extended his hand to Governor Adeleke, who turned away to welcome others.
