- Agege Local Government in Lagos State awarded ₦5 million to recognize exceptional students, their schools, and the local education district.
- The recognition was for outstanding results in the 2025 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exams.
- The announcement was made during an award ceremony by Chairman Alhaji Azeez Tunde and Vice Chairman Alhaji Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa.

Agege Local Government in Lagos State has recognized exceptional students, their schools, and the local education district with a total of ₦5 million, in appreciation of their outstanding results in the 2025 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exams.
The announcement was made by the Chairman of Agege Local Government, Alhaji Azeez Tunde, together with Vice Chairman Alhaji Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, during an award ceremony in Lagos.
The top three students received the following awards:
- Akintoye Boluwatife Niemat of Government Senior College, Agege, who achieved 7 A1s, 1 B3, and 1 C6, was awarded ₦1 million.
- Hassan Aisha Ayomide, also from Government Senior College, Agege, with 6 A1s and 3 B3s, received ₦1 million.
- Olatunji Olayinka Deborah of Dairy Farm Senior Secondary School, Agege, who obtained 5 A1s, 2 B2s, and 3 B3s, was given ₦1 million.
In addition to individual recognitions, the schools that produced these high achievers were rewarded. Government Senior College, Agege, received ₦1 million for producing two of the top students, while Dairy Farm Senior Secondary School was granted ₦500,000. The Agege Education District also received ₦500,000, bringing the total awards to ₦5 million.
Chairman Tunde commended the students, educators, and local education officials, highlighting the critical role of academic excellence in shaping the future.
“Education is the most valuable legacy we can pass on to the next generation. By acknowledging these students, their schools, and the education district, we are fostering a culture of diligence, perseverance, and academic excellence,” he stated.
Vice Chairman Obasa described the awards as a “significant investment in human capital” and reaffirmed Agege Local Government’s commitment to making education a key priority for development.
