Nigerian interior designer and former wife of comedian Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, Mabel Makun, has celebrated her daughter, Ayomide Makun, as she reached another significant milestone in her academic journey.
The proud mother of two travelled to the United Kingdom to attend her daughter’s Queen’s Speech Day, a special end-of-year event that celebrates students’ achievements with prize presentations, inspiring speeches, exhibitions, and family gatherings.
Mabel shared highlights from the memorable occasion in a video posted online, where she expressed her joy and pride in Ayomide’s accomplishments.
Celebrating her daughter, she noted that Ayomide had successfully moved from completing her A-levels to embracing new heights and opportunities ahead.

In other news… Nigerian man has alleged that he was physically assaulted after a government convoy reportedly hit his car and refused to stop in Abuja.
Sharing his experience, the man described the incident as one of the most terrifying moments of his life. According to him, the accident occurred when a pilot vehicle in the convoy collided with his car. Rather than stopping after the crash, he claimed the convoy sped away.
Determined to seek accountability, he said he followed the convoy until he eventually caught up with it. However, instead of getting answers, he alleged that he was attacked and beaten.
“Today, I experienced one of the most terrifying moments of my life. My car was hit by a pilot vehicle in a government convoy in Abuja. Instead of stopping after the collision, the convoy drove away.
“I followed them to demand accountability. When I eventually caught up with them, I was physically ass@ulted and beaten.
“No citizen should be treated this way simply for seeking answers after an accident. I am deeply shaken by what happened.”
The claim has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians condemning the alleged assault and calling for accountability from those involved.
