- Rita Edochie has slammed Judy Austin over her comments on women wearing traditional Igbo red caps.
- The actress accused Judy of hypocrisy and questioned her authority to lecture others on culture and morality.

Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has publicly criticized Judy Austin following her recent comments questioning whether women without Igbo traditional titles should wear red caps.
The controversy began after Judy Austin raised concerns about the appropriateness of women wearing the traditional Igbo red cap without holding a recognized title.
Reacting via her Instagram page, Rita Edochie questioned Judy Austin’s authority to speak on cultural and traditional matters, accusing her of hypocrisy.
In a lengthy post, the actress argued that someone facing criticism over personal conduct should not be advising others on morality or tradition.
“Is it proper for a married woman in her husband’s house to abduct another married woman’s husband in her home? I just want to know,” Rita wrote.
She further stated that she could not take moral lessons from someone she described as a “home wrecker,” insisting that actions should align with words.
“Who are you to lecture on traditional matters? Is it not the same tradition that says a woman can’t sleep with another man while she is in her man’s house?” she asked.
Rita Edochie also questioned Judy’s stance on women wearing red caps, arguing that if someone could allegedly disregard other cultural values, then criticizing women over traditional attire appeared contradictory.
The actress concluded by calling on people to practice what they preach, saying public advice carries more weight when backed by personal conduct.
The latest exchange adds to the long-running public feud surrounding Judy Austin and her husband, Yul Edochie, which continues to generate reactions across social media.
