“I’m Scared Of Marriage”- Ice Prince Spills

  • Ice Prince, a 39-year-old Nigerian rapper, is hesitant about marriage.
  • His views on relationships have been influenced by observing modern marriages.
  • He has noticed many marriages failing shortly after the wedding.

Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince, 39, has explained why he is not rushing into marriage, saying his perception has been shaped by what he sees in modern relationships.

In a recent podcast interview with media personality Rufai Oseni, the rapper said he often witnesses marriages collapse shortly after the wedding, which has made him cautious about settling down.

He also pointed out the financial strain many people face when planning weddings, noting that some friends even seek financial help from him just to afford marriage ceremonies. According to him, he prefers not to put himself under such pressure.

Ice Prince added that marriage is something he may consider later in life, possibly around age 40, citing examples of people he admires, such as rapper M.I Abaga, who got married at that stage.

Beyond marriage, he shared some of his future ambitions, saying he hopes to go back to school someday and eventually venture into farming.

He also hinted that he may step away from actively releasing music albums by the time he turns 40, as he envisions transitioning into a different phase of his life.

His words …

“These days I get scared of this marriage thing more and more everyday because I see people get married and in less than a year they want out. I see the drama people go through to get married, the stress about borrowing money. My friends are constantly reaching out to me to borrow money to get married and I don’t want to be that person… I’m hoping that maybe when I am 40. Some of my mentors got married that age – somebody like M.I Abaga got married at that age. Maybe when I’m that age I’ll probably be thinking about that. For now I don’t intend to.

Also I have other goals when I’m 40. I intend to go to school. I really want to go to school so bad and I’d like to run a farm when I’m that age. I don’t intend to be dropping albums when I’m 40….”
