Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has reacted strongly after discovering that a TikTok user was allegedly using her photos to create fake obituary posters.
In a video she shared, the actress expressed shock that someone had allegedly used about a hundred of her pictures to falsely declare her dead on the platform. She described the act as disturbing and unacceptable, adding that she would not forgive the individual if they were eventually identified.
Toyin Abraham warned the person behind the posts to take them down immediately, stressing that such content was harmful and misleading. She also insisted that the matter was being watched by many people online, noting her displeasure that no one had stepped in until she chose to speak out.
While addressing the situation, the mother of one also made emotional remarks, declaring that neither she, her husband, her children, nor even the person responsible would experience untimely death.
She further used the opportunity to promote her latest movie, urging fans to support her by watching it in cinemas.
Following her reaction, many fans took to social media to defend her, questioning why anyone would create content that suggests death or wish such harm on others. Some users even called on activist Omoyele Sowore to take note of the situation before it escalates.
However, not everyone agreed with the online reaction. A section of users argued that while the act against Toyin Abraham was wrong, there are more pressing societal issues that could have been highlighted instead of focusing on a faceless online troll.
