A disturbing video making rounds online has sparked outrage after a lady revealed how two women allegedly brought maggot-infested pepper to Mile 12 market in Lagos to grind for consumption.

According to the narrator in the viral clip, the women arrived at the popular market with buckets of spoiled pepper crawling with maggots, intending to blend it into paste. One of the women was reportedly caught and arrested by people at the market, while the other escaped during the commotion.

The footage showed orange buckets filled with rotten pepper heavily infested with white wriggling maggots, leaving many social media users horrified.

Reacting to the incident, @josh_jaymajor wrote, “We don’t talk enough about the wickedness in our society, just look at this 🤌.”

@JenniferOr48236 commented, “Why are people like this why are people this wicked 😭😭😭.”

Sharing his opinion, @realidraphael said, “You think all the food you buy from restaurant and the one you ordered are all hygienic?”
