Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has revealed the moment that inspired him to pursue music, saying it happened during a night out in Lagos.
Speaking during a recent podcast interview, the singer recalled being in Nigeria for Christmas when he visited Club Rehab. According to Davido, the atmosphere in the club changed immediately after top artistes like P-Square, Wizkid and Wande Coal arrived.
He explained that the reaction from female fans at the club caught his attention and played a major role in influencing his decision to take music seriously.
“I remember I was in Nigeria for Christmas and I went to the club. When P Square, Wizkid and Wande Coal walked in, all the girls went crazy for them. That’s how I made up my mind to do music. I wanted it,” Davido said during the interview.
Over the years, Davido has become one of Africa’s biggest music exports, earning international recognition and releasing several successful songs in the Afrobeats industry.
