Ms. Lami Calista revealed that the recording was part of a planned family arrangement between her and Ilebaye, aimed at addressing ongoing disputes within the family, particularly involving her husband.
According to her, the intention was to make a point in their private marital issues and not to create public misunderstanding.
She said:
“It was planned between me and Ilebaye. I will never disown my child.”
She further explained that she temporarily moved out of the home to make the situation appear real, insisting that the action was purely strategic and not reflective of her true feelings.
The revelation comes amid an ongoing family dispute in which Ilebaye’s father had previously accused the reality star of neglect and disrespect following her BBNaija win in 2023. However, Ms. Calista had earlier defended her daughter, claiming she spent nearly ₦30 million on his medical care and denied allegations involving drug-related claims within the family.
