  • Criticism arose due to her reaction to the death of Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo.
  • Alexx Ekubo reportedly passed away on Tuesday after a battle with liver cancer.

Social media users have heavily criticised relationship influencer Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, over her reaction to the death of Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo.

Alexx Ekubo reportedly died on Tuesday afternoon after battling liver cancer, prompting an outpouring of tributes across social media platforms.

Blessing CEO also reacted to the sad news with an Instagram post, but many Nigerians considered her message inappropriate due to her recent controversy involving a fake cancer claim.

In her post, she expressed sorrow over the actor’s passing and condemned the illness responsible for his death.

“God will punish cancer .. We waited for u to show up 🙏. Your fought silently Rest in peace”

However, the post quickly sparked outrage online because only weeks ago, Blessing CEO allegedly staged a fake cancer scare, claiming she had stage 4 cancer.

At the time, the controversial influencer shared emotional videos of herself crying and shaving her hair. She also claimed she was selling off her properties to pay for treatment and appealed to the public for financial support.

The situation later took a dramatic turn after reports surfaced that the medical document she shared had been manipulated. The alleged original owner of the report accused her of altering the results and reportedly threatened legal action.

The controversy triggered widespread criticism online, with many Nigerians demanding refunds for donations allegedly made during the period.

Following Alexx Ekubo’s death, many social media users returned to Blessing CEO’s page, accusing her of being insensitive and reminding her of the earlier scandal surrounding her fake illness claims.

While some users reacted angrily, others condemned her for speaking about cancer after allegedly using the disease for attention online.

The intense backlash eventually pushed Blessing CEO to disable comments on her post.
