Frank Edoho Reveals Shocking Salary He Earned While Hosting ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’

Popular Nigerian media personality and TV host Frank Edoho has opened up about his humble beginnings and financial struggles during the early years of hosting the iconic TV show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

Speaking during a seminar, the veteran broadcaster revealed that despite appearing wealthy and successful on television, he was earning just ₦160,000 monthly during his first two years on the show.

According to Frank Edoho, many viewers assumed he was extremely rich because of his polished appearance, expensive suits, and confident lifestyle on screen, but reality was far different behind the scenes.

Narrating his experience, he said:

“My first two years’ salary at the ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ show was ₦160k monthly, but I had to put on a suit and act like I owned all the money.”

He further explained how things changed after telecommunications giant MTN Nigeria became involved with the show.

“But when MTN came on, I just said let me just give a figure to my boss, the owner of the show. If I should mention it, you all will suffocate, and he was like, ‘Okay, we’ll give you 3 months upfront.’”

Frank Edoho noted that the deal became a major turning point in his career and significantly improved his financial situation.

His revelation has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians saying appearances can often be misleading.
