Nigerian singer and songwriter Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has shared insights into his upbringing, revealing how his father’s career as a military pilot exposed him to influential personalities, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
According to him, his father once served as Obasanjo’s personal pilot for about eight years, a position that brought the family into close contact with the presidential circle.
In a trending video online, the music star explained that his father first served in the military as a pilot before retiring. After his retirement, he continued flying commercially, working with billionaire Mike Adenuga and transporting helicopters to oil rigs.
He said his father’s profession played a major role in shaping his mindset and ambition.
“My dad is a pilot, so, you know, he just retired in November. But just seeing him fly around made me want that freedom. He was the pilot in the military, and when he retired, he then started to fly for Mike Adenuga. My dad would fly the choppers to Adenuga’s oil rigs and back.”
The Banku music pioneer further narrated how his father later worked with former President Olusegun Obasanjo during his time in office, flying him for several years. He recalled visiting Obasanjo’s farm as a child, where he was sometimes given gifts like fresh fish and chicken while preparing to return to school.
“And after Adenuga, then when Obasanjo became president, my dad was flying Obasanjo for like eight years. I would go to the farm while Obasanjo was sitting president, and he would give me big fish or chicken. I’m like, fam, you’re president, give me money.”
Mr Eazi’s account highlights the privileged environment he grew up in, surrounded by influential figures and high-level connections.
Some fans have since suggested that this background may have indirectly influenced his music journey and his relationship with Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola.@Lifeisb76770621 said:
