Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has opened up about the emotional challenges many women experience in unhealthy relationships.

In a video posted on her Instagram page, the actress said she was inspired after reading a book that made her reflect on how often women appear composed on the outside while dealing with inner emotional distress.

She explained that many women have learned to “look calm while emotionally carrying nonsense,” highlighting the quiet pain some endure behind closed doors.

Regina also reflected on how women who are beautiful, kind, strong, and soft-spoken often end up with partners who demand full access to their lives but offer little genuine commitment in return. She described such situations as a “very dark type of sh*t.”

Sharing deeper thoughts from the book, she asked thought-provoking questions such as: “What’s the point of being desired if you are not deeply chosen? What is the point of being chosen if there is no faithfulness? What is the point of love if it comes with confusion, betrayal, and emotional hunger?”

She further stressed the contradiction many women face being wanted but not protected, loved publicly but betrayed privately, and kept close without truly feeling safe.

According to her, the message serves as a reminder for women to distinguish between attention and true devotion, desire and loyalty, as well as proximity and real emotional peace.

She encouraged women who have ever questioned their place in a relationship to consider reading the book that inspired her reflections.
