No EFCC, ICPC, DSS Case Against Obi Speaks Volumes- Dele Farotimi Hails Peter Obi as “Uncommon Politician”

  • Dele Farotimi has praised Peter Obi’s character and integrity, noting that despite political opposition, no anti-corruption agency has invited or investigated him, a point he says reflects positively on Obi.

Activist Dele Farotimi has publicly expressed strong confidence in the character and integrity of former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.

In a statement that has gained traction online, Farotimi described Obi as an exceptional figure in Nigerian politics, emphasizing what he sees as a clear distinction between him and other political actors.

“I believe in the character of Peter Obi. I know he is an uncommon politician, miles ahead of his peers. For a man who has been a problem to the vindictive Bola Tinubu, the EFCC, ICPC & DSS are yet to find any reason to invite him or carry him, that should tell you a lot,” he said.

Farotimi’s remarks appear to reference the absence of any public investigation or arrest involving Obi by major anti-corruption and security agencies, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), and the Department of State Services (DSS).

He also took a swipe at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as “vindictive,” while suggesting that Obi’s record speaks for itself despite being in political opposition.

In other news…. Social media personality VeryDarkMan has sparked fresh reactions online following an exchange with human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju over the ongoing case involving businessman Linus Williams, popularly known as BLord.

In a conversation that has since gone viral, VeryDarkMan stated that he was willing to forgive BLord and withdraw the case under specific conditions.

“I will forgive BLord tonight and withdraw the case if you accept my conditions,” he said.

Responding, Deji Adeyanju questioned the terms, noting his prior efforts to mediate on BLord’s behalf.

“What are the conditions? You know I have been begging on his behalf,” Adeyanju asked.

VeryDarkMan then revealed his demand, which has since generated widespread reactions online.

“I want you to go online and shout, ‘I love APC and I love President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.’ But someone like that is not supposed to witness the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” he added.

The statement has drawn mixed reactions from Nigerians, with some describing it as humorous or unserious, while others criticised the introduction of political and religious references into the matter.
