“We Wake Up to Terrible News Daily” -Mr Real Calls Out Artists for Releasing Songs During National Turmoil

  • Mr Real has criticized Nigerian artists and fans for continuing to release music and party despite rising insecurity, stating that he has paused his own releases due to the national mood.
  • He said artists appear disconnected from the realities affecting many Nigerians, noting that the mood of the nation does not support such celebrations.

Mr Real has called out fellow artists and Nigerian music fans for continuing entertainment activities despite the country’s growing insecurity concerns.

In a recent video broadcast, the “Legbegbe” crooner expressed dissatisfaction with musicians who keep releasing songs and performing in clubs, describing the trend as insensitive given the current situation.

He said artists appear disconnected from the realities affecting many Nigerians, noting that the mood of the nation does not support such celebrations.

Mr Real also revealed that he has personally held back from releasing new music because of the prevailing circumstances.

He said, “I wake up to terrible news everyday. I am even scared to drop songs because of the terrible things happening in Nigeria. Artists who are releasing songs are trying because I don’t know the kind of mind they have. How do some artists do it?

“This country is burning. People are dying. Some individuals have turned insecurity to business and we still go to club. That is the problem.

“You can argue that you have your own life to life. I also can’t deny that I don’t club or enjoy my life. But can’t you see that it is not normal? It is like we are under a spell to be docile no matter how worse things get. Is it normal?”
