Viral fish pie vendor Alax Evalsam has sparked new controversy after claiming that his much-talked-about ambassadorial deal with Eko Hotel & Suites was not genuine.
During an interview on The Clarity Zone podcast, he revealed that the widely shared moment suggesting he had secured a major endorsement was actually staged.
Alax explained that influencer King Mitchy took him to the hotel and instructed him to act as if he was signing an official agreement in the presence of the management team.
The scene led many people to believe he had landed a lucrative partnership. Earlier reports even claimed the deal included a two-year contract reportedly valued between ₦5 million and ₦20 million, along with benefits such as accommodation, a vehicle, and opportunities to perform.
However, Alax has now clarified that the supposed contract signing was only for appearances, raising questions about the legitimacy of the deal that many had celebrated as a major milestone in his career.
He said in part …
“King Mitchy took me to Eko Hotel and then she introduced me to their management and then asked me to behave as if I am signing a deal, so that is when people thought I collected a contract of 100 million Naira. The made me act as if I had signed an ambassadorial deal.”
