Popular Nigerian socialite and entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest has admitted that not supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last general election was a political mistake, revealing that he has now decided to align with the current administration.
The nightlife promoter made the remarks during a political meeting in Imo State, where he explained that the gathering was the result of several weeks of planning and aimed at showing increasing solidarity with the federal government.
According to him, years spent in political opposition did not bring the results he and his supporters expected, which is why they have chosen to adopt a different strategy moving forward.
He said they now prefer collaboration with the government rather than confrontation.
“We have decided to work with the government at the center. We are not interested in fighting anymore. We tried the opposition route, and it didn’t work for us,” he stated.
Chief Priest also praised the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, for maintaining a strong working relationship with the federal government, noting that such cooperation has contributed to development in the state.
He also applauded Seyi Tinubu, describing him as someone who is helping to strengthen unity and foster connections among different ethnic and regional groups.
Reflecting on the previous election, the businessman admitted that he had once opposed Tinubu but now believes that decision was a political misstep.
“Politics is like a game. We don’t want to lose again, and we won’t waste our votes anymore,” he said.
He further predicted that the wave of support building around the president could grow into one of the country’s largest political movements, promising stronger mobilisation ahead of future elections.
Chief Priest ended his remarks by praying for Tinubu’s success in office and urged Nigerians to prioritize unity, cooperation, and partnership as the country continues to move forward.
