- Omoyele Sowore says Minister David Umahi resolved a decade-long dispute with Tracy Ohiri through a civil settlement, reportedly giving her ₦110 million.
- The saga, which started over alleged unpaid business deals and viral social media posts, had briefly involved police action before being settled out of court.

Activist Omoyele Sowore has commented on the long-running dispute between Minister David Umahi and businesswoman Tracy Ohiri, revealing that the matter has been resolved through a civil legal process rather than police intervention.
Sowore stated, “Minister David Umahi has handled the matter through a civil process, which means it is no longer a police case. They reportedly reached a legal agreement with Tracy Ohiri. From what I heard, they said he gave her ₦110 million and asked her to make the video.”
The controversy began when Ohiri claimed that Umahi owed her money from business dealings and campaign-related promotions spanning over a decade. She publicly aired her grievances on social media, including TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, stating that she had been demanding her money for more than 12 years. Her videos quickly went viral, drawing public attention and sparking debate.
At one point, authorities arrested Ohiri on allegations of cyberbullying, though she was granted bail after pleading not guilty. Umahi’s office denied any personal harassment or owing the money, describing the claims as inconsistent and noting that Ohiri had deleted all her social media videos about the matter.
The saga escalated further when Sowore confronted Umahi at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Abuja, arguing that the dispute was civil in nature and that police should not have been involved. According to Sowore, the conflict has now been fully resolved through a civil settlement, reportedly involving ₦110 million paid to Ohiri as part of the agreement.
