Obi Cubana Reaffirms Support For Tinubu, Highlights City Boy Movement’s Vision For Southeast

  • Obi Iyiegbu, known as Obi Cubana, supports President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
  • He is the Southeast zonal coordinator for the City Boy Movement, a pro-Tinubu initiative.
  • The movement aims to promote the development of Igbo land.

Prominent entrepreneur and socialite Obi Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has reiterated his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election through the City Boy Movement during a visit to Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah.

As the Southeast zonal coordinator for the pro-Tinubu initiative, Obi Cubana highlighted that the group’s primary aim is to promote the development of Igbo land by fostering federal collaboration and informing southeastern residents about the benefits of backing the president’s second term.

He explained that the City Boy Movement is not a political party but a platform mainly composed of young entrepreneurs committed to advancing the southeast.

“We are fully behind Bola Tinubu’s mandate. The City Boy Movement is not a political party; it is focused on supporting the president’s re-election. What makes it unique is that it largely involves young people, especially businessmen, rather than politicians, all working toward the growth of the Igbo region. Many of our people are not fully informed, so it is our duty to educate them. We firmly stand with Tinubu,” he said in a video statement.

Posting photos from the visit on his Instagram page on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Obi Cubana expressed gratitude to Governor Mbah for his hospitality.

“Your Excellency, the digital Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, thank you for the warm reception and overwhelming support today! Enugu State is setting a standard!!! Peter Mbah is a certified City Boy,” he wrote in the caption.

@Olorofo:”If you listen to what Obi Cubana said, you will believe in the movement and join the movement especially to the Ibo people. You can’t always play divisive politics and expect to win or get something good out of the government.”

@Everypolitics1:”When cubana speaks, is he truly speaking for the ordinary Igbo people, or is he speaking for the interests of the wealthy elites?”

@Blaqboy_kharly:”A wealthy man telling poor people who to vote for… A govt driving people into poverty… How does this even work, bcos no individual can influence me into who to vote for, except the candidate himself.”
