- A social media commentator, Adesuwa, has alleged that Lere Olayinka, an aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, sent her a message after she posted a video about water scarcity in Abuja.
- Her claim has sparked discussions online as residents continue to complain about water supply challenges in the capital.

A Nigerian content creator identified as Adesuwa has sparked reactions online after alleging that an aide to the Federal Capital Territory minister contacted her following a video she made about water scarcity in Abuja.
Adesuwa had earlier shared a video highlighting the ongoing water shortage affecting several parts of Abuja, where residents have reportedly been struggling with irregular water supply.
The issue of water scarcity in the city has been ongoing for months. Authorities previously explained that the disruption was caused by rehabilitation work on two of the four major water treatment plants serving the capital. Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, said the repairs required shutting down the plants temporarily, leaving only two operational and forcing the government to ration water supply.
However, after posting her video about the situation, Adesuwa revealed that she received a message from Lere Olayinka, a media aide to Wike.
Reacting publicly, she questioned the intention behind the message.
“Is Wike’s aide thre@tening me for covering water scarcity in Abuja?” she asked.
Her statement quickly attracted attention on social media, with many users debating whether public officials or their representatives should directly respond to critics or commentators online.
