A 120-year-old woman has been laid to rest in a customised dolphin-shaped coffin in Oboro community, Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State.
The unusual burial ceremony has sparked reactions both within the community and on social media, as many people shared their thoughts on the symbolic gesture.
According to community members, the late woman was known throughout her lifetime as a fisherwoman. Fishing was said to be her only trade, and she spent decades working on the river.
To honour her dedication to the fishing profession, her family chose a dolphin-shaped casket as a tribute to her life and legacy. The design was meant to reflect her strong connection to the river and celebrate her contribution to the local fishing heritage.
Residents described the burial as a fitting farewell for a woman whose identity and livelihood were deeply tied to the waters of the community.



In other news….Nigerian streamer and skitmaker, Carter Efe, has opened up about the painful loss of his father, who was reportedly killed by armed robbers in Ogun State several years ago.
According to Carter Efe, his father was a police officer who had finished his duty on the day of the tragic incident. He explained that his father decided to follow a police van from work to the nearest bus stop close to their home.
However, while on the highway, they encountered heavy traffic caused by what appeared to be a military operation. Unknown to them, the men dressed in military camouflage were actually armed robbers carrying out an attack.
Carter Efe recounted that the officers stepped out of their vehicle to find out what was happening, but the robbers opened fire immediately after noticing their police uniforms. His father was fatally shot during the attack.
The skitmaker described the experience as deeply traumatizing, revealing that he later saw his father’s lifeless body on television. He added that the video clip of the incident is still available on YouTube, a painful reminder of the tragedy.
Speaking in a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Carter Efe said, “My dad had closed from duty and was heading home but he decided to enter the police van to the nearest bus-stop to our house, we were saying at Ogun State then.
“However, they ran into a gridlock and some men in military camouflage were robbing. My dad and his colleagues alighted from the van to check what was going but immediately the robbers spotted them in police uniform, they opened fire on them. My dad is on YouTube, I saw my dad’s lifeless body on the ground with police uniform.”
He added, “I am not stranger to pain. I have gone through a lot of pains. So, there is no pain that will make me stop my grind.”
