Sunday Igboho has stirred fresh reactions online after declaring that he is a Christian who also practices traditional spirituality.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the Yoruba nation agitator was seen addressing a gathering of traditional rulers, where he spoke openly about his religious background and spiritual life. Igboho stated that being a Christian does not prevent him from using traditional charms.
“I am a Christian, but I use charms. I do all religions. Even Islamic father, Muideen Ajayi Bello is a Muslim, I am a Christian. I was born in church, but I do charms. I was trained in the act. Everyone knows my father is a babalawo in Modakeke,” he said.
Igboho explained that he was born in Igboho, a historic town in the Oke-Ogun area of Oyo State, before his family later moved to Modakeke in Osun State, where he grew up. According to him, his father is a well-known babalawo in the town, which exposed him to traditional practices from an early age.
He emphasized that he associates freely with people of different faiths and sees no contradiction in combining religious beliefs. Citing Islamic cleric Muideen Ajayi Bello as an example, he noted that religion should not prevent interaction among individuals from diverse backgrounds.
His comments have since generated mixed reactions online
