“Worst IGP Ever, I Swore To Fight Him”- Sowore Speaks On Egbetokun’s Removal

  • Nigerian activist Omoyele Sowore criticized former Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, labeling him as one of the worst in recent history.
  • Egbetokun resigned after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu accepted his resignation.
  • Tunji Disu has been appointed as the Acting Inspector General of Police following Egbetokun’s departure.

Nigerian activist Omoyele Sowore has expressed strong criticism following the departure of former Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, calling him “one of the worst police IGs in recent memory.”

Egbetokun stepped down after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu accepted his resignation and appointed Tunji Disu as the Acting Inspector General of Police. The move has reignited discussions on leadership, accountability, and reform within the Nigeria Police Force.

Commenting on the change, Sowore said he began opposing Egbetokun after the IG’s controversial actions, including arresting protestors and charging minors with treason.

“That was the moment I decided I would hold him accountable,” Sowore stated.

He added that he had repeatedly advised President Tinubu against extending Egbetokun’s tenure, warning that it would be a serious error.

“Even before his term was renewed, I cautioned against it. He is the worst police IG in recent times,” he said.

With Disu now serving as acting IGP, public focus has turned to whether the leadership shift will lead to real reforms, higher professionalism, and stronger protection of citizens’ rights in Nigeria’s policing system.

In other news… A social commentator has stirred conversation online after sharing his views on gender relations and male behavior in modern society.
According to him, men are primarily attracted to other men in non-sexual ways. He explained that men often prefer spending time with fellow men through friendships, shared activities, and even living arrangements.
He argued that this pattern plays a role in wider societal issues such as misogyny and the growing separation between men and women.
The commentator also claimed that men find it easier to submit or show respect to other men rather than to women. In his view, if a man can defer to another man, he questions why a woman should expect the same treatment.
He further suggested that certain activities, including going to the gym, are sometimes motivated more by a desire to impress other men than to attract women.
“Men are more attracted to men, the only part where they’re attracted to women is s£xvally. Men tend to prefer being friends with other men. They would rather live with men, play sports with men, and play games with men. A man is more likely to open up to his fellow man than to a woman, and would prefer to cry in front of their fellow man. They are more tolerant of men and even more submissive to men. That’s why they struggle with being submissive to a woman, because if a man can submit to another man, he questions why a woman can’t submit to him.”
