Nigerian singer Davido has reacted subtly after reports emerged that a petition was filed against him by Ebelechukwu Enedah, legal representative of his child’s mother, Sophia Momodu.
Instead of releasing an official statement, the award-winning artiste shared a photo of his meal on social media shortly after the news surfaced. The simple post a snapshot of a plate of food quickly caught public attention, with many interpreting it as a relaxed or indifferent response to the controversy.
Reports claim that Enedah submitted a petition to the Inspector General of Police on February 16, 2026, accusing the singer of harassment, intimidation, and cyberbullying. The complaint also alleged that during a recent court session linked to the custody battle between Davido and Sophia, the singer spoke to her in an aggressive manner while she was cross-examining him.
According to the petition, the heated exchange in court reportedly contributed to the case being adjourned. It further stated that following the court proceedings, Enedah began receiving numerous phone calls and messages from different individuals.
The document allegedly pointed to certain social media posts including those from verified accounts said to belong to Davido as contributing to the influx of messages directed at her.
The petition came shortly after a statement was issued by her firm, Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors, which maintained that it would not tolerate online harassment or intimidation of its staff for carrying out their professional responsibilities.
The situation escalated after Davido publicly criticised Enedah’s conduct during the custody hearing, a move that sparked widespread discussion online.
The custody dispute between Davido and Sophia Momodu has continued to attract significant public interest. During one of the recent hearings, the singer was reported to have become visibly emotional during cross-examination, creating tension in the courtroom.
In a subsequent clarification, Davido explained that he had requested joint custody rather than full custody of his daughter. He also revealed that he eventually chose to withdraw the case, stating that his child would one day understand that he made efforts on her behalf.
