She noted that although some individuals benefit financially from internet fraud, its harmful consequences extend deeply across society.
According to her, the culture promotes drug abuse among young men, as some resort to substances to stay awake, cope with pressure, or keep up with their online activities.
She added that Yahoo has stripped many youths of direction, explaining that a large number of young people pay little attention to politics or governance, despite how strongly these factors shape their everyday lives.
The woman also criticised the sense of entitlement associated with Yahoo culture, particularly among women who treat money they did not work for as expendable.
She warned that the endless cycle of hustling, cashing out, reckless spending, and starting over traps people in stagnation and blocks real progress. Urging those involved to reconsider their choices, she advised them to identify their talents and pursue sustainable businesses they can manage responsibly.
In conclusion, she compared today’s lifestyle-driven mindset with that of earlier generations, who often invested proceeds from 419 activities into legitimate ventures.
“Many young people today are obsessed with appearances and imitation rather than investment. This is why Yahoo remains one of the biggest challenges facing Nigeria,” she said.
