A tragic incident has unfolded in Okene, Kogi State, where a woman identified as Favour Odoba is accused of poisoning her husband of nine years, Abdul Kadir Nagazi, to death.
The tragedy reportedly stemmed from jealousy after Abdul took a second wife who recently gave birth to a baby boy—a milestone the couple had not achieved in nearly a decade of marriage.
Reports indicate that Favour invited Abdul to spend the night with her on Saturday. Shortly after, he was rushed to a hospital where doctors allegedly confirmed he had been poisoned through both food and a lethal injection. Following the incident, the suspect reportedly fled and remains at large.
The deceased’s cousin, Engr. Abdulrazak Abdulrazeez, took to social media during the funeral on Monday to express his fury. He revealed that Abdul had recently spent over ₦2 million to set up a business for Favour, describing her as a “demon in human form.”
“Your father is very very lucky that I wasn’t at home. It shall never be better for the people that went to your house and met your father that gave birth to a demon like you and dey left him Alive.. Your dad is very very lucky that I wasn’t at home… See you can run but you can never hide.”
In a controversial addition to his tribute, Abdulrazeez issued a stern warning to young men regarding marriage and behavioral patterns he believes lead to such “regression.”
“As a growing young boy, in whatever you do in life, don’t ever get married to an Ebira girl who chose to start having sex or having a boyfriend at an early stage of her life. If you don’t want to live a life of regression… Rest in peace Bro.”
