Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, popularly known as the ‘dancing senator,’ has defended his signature hobby, insisting that it does not impact his ability to perform his official duties.
Governor Adeleke made the statement on Wednesday during an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ programme.
“Let me tell you something. I will keep dancing because I love to dance, I love to praise my God. That doesn’t change anything. You understand what I’m saying?” he said.
He emphasized that dancing is simply his way of relaxing:
“Everybody has their way of relaxing or hobby. My hobby is to dance and praise my God. That does not affect my work.”
The statement comes shortly after the Governor formally joined the Accord Party on Tuesday, resigning from the PDP. He subsequently emerged as the Accord Party’s governorship candidate for the 2026 Osun State gubernatorial election.
In other news…. Popular Nigerian filmmaker and activist Stanley Ajemba, widely known as Stanley Ontop, has been released from police custody after spending one night in detention.
Stanley was arrested on Tuesday and held at the Delta State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Asaba following a defamation petition filed by his colleague, actress Queeneth Hilbeth.
His detention sparked widespread criticism on social media, with many celebrities calling for his immediate release.
The actor was released on Wednesday evening. Announcing his freedom in a video shared on Instagram, Stanley Ontop shouted:
“We are out, we’re out, we’re out! The struggle continues, no leave no transfer. Aluta continua. Thanks to my team and family. The love was massive meenh.”
