Nigerian Soldier Claims Recruits Earn N104,000 in Viral Salary Breakdown Video

  • A viral video, purportedly featuring a Nigerian soldier, has sparked widespread discussion online by detailing a seemingly low salary structure for the military. The man claimed that a new army recruit receives N104,000 monthly, which only increases to N125,000 after 15 years of service. He added that additional benefits ranging from N20,000 to N25,000 are available depending on the posting.

A viral video has emerged on social media showing a man, identified as a Nigerian soldier, detailing what he claims is the Nigerian military pay structure.

According to him, a new army recruit gets paid N104,000 and that this increases to N112,000 after 5 years. He explained that after 10 years in the force, the salary turns to N115,000 and then increases to N125,000 naira if one spends 15 years in the military.

He claimed that there are other benefits ranging from N20,000 to N25,000 depending on where one serves.

However, the video has made the rounds on social media, sparking a lot of discussion on the salary structure. His revelation comes amid the uprising terrorism and banditry cases in the country and the role the military plays in combating such vices, especially when they are underpaid.
